Am I missing something?


In a recent letter to the editor of the local piece of tp, it was stated that the

"... former superintendent Gabe Ziccarelli, who continues to work on the project despite his retirement ..."was hired by the school board at a rate of $500 per day..."

For those of you with short term memory, when the Highlands School Board decided to replace an inept super with Dr. Nick Starsenic, Jeffy Domenick and the other Corporatists at the Radical Right Wing VND/Trib had collective apoplectic fits over his pay. But listen closely boys and girls, to the Sound of Silence coming from the pseudo-elite who spew there bull in a biased way when they meet on 4th ave or street or a pub in Natrona Heights. Any comments on the $15,000 per month to a retired super consulting for 4 or 5 months? Information brought to you by those supposedly concerned with bringing you "facts?" Remember, they are wasting your tax dollars already filing a law suit because they think "meetings should be held in public and the public has a right to know how their money is being spent." But nothing said by Jeffy on the money spent in Springdale. Not a peep! Crickets abound!
Gotta make you wonder why, when The Drama Queen of the current School Board and her Handmaiden complained about hiring Dr. Nick, Jeffy couldn't control his irkdomness! But Ziccarelli, in Springdale, getting/wasting the same tax money there...pffaaw! No big deal! No comments!

While I'm sure he's worth it, so was Nick. But because of a couple of fools and their mouthpiece at the tp, the Highlands Board got all kinds of grief.

How's that better Choice for Highlands going kiddies? What has Wantland, Wisner and Heasley really, truly done but vote as a bloc of Congressional Republicans, block legislation and try to make sure Wantland's previous traumas/interests were revenged? You can sum up their accomplishments in one word: NOTHING!

You guys got a vote coming up next year to replace Wantland, Wisner and Heasley. If you're happy with liars and their lying ways; with people who want to spend your tax dollars on their pet projects to help their friends, then vote them back in. I don't care. It's no longer my money.

Are your departed ones still of the same faith they were baptized???

This may be a little disturbing to you devout Christians out there.

Religion in this country is supposed to be free, in other words, Americans are free to worship as they please or even not worship (that’s for another rant) under the First Amendment. What happens when one religion tries to impose its beliefs on another’s? Well, that’s something the Mormons seem to be doing.

There have been a number of letters to the editor in the VND extolling the virtues of Mormonism and how they are all Christians and yadda yadda yadda. Then you find this out!
The Mormons have been posthumously baptizing people into the Mormon religion who have died. What’s so bad about that since they believe it’s their way? Well, they get the names of people who have died throughout the world and baptize them as Mormons…whether they were baptized by any other religion or not! Let that sink in to you devout Christians.

It became known in 1995 that Mormons had gotten the names of the millions of Jews who died during the Holocaust and decided to posthumously baptize them as Mormons…without the consent of the next of kin!

How is this done? A “stand-in” dressed in a white robe is dunked in a ceremonial baptism tank while claiming to do it in the name of the deceased!

Their reasoning for doing this?
From the Catholic Church:


They believe people who have died can be baptized by proxy, thus allowing them the opportunity to become Mormons after their death. The idea behind baptism for the dead is this: God wants each of us to be with him in glory. To effect this, he allows us to accept the Mormon gospel here on earth. If we do not, he sends us to a "spirit prison" until the Mormon gospel has been preached to us there and we convert.

Mormons believe that their church has missionaries in the "spirit world" who are busy spreading the Mormon gospel to dead people who have not yet received it. Should any of these dead people want to convert to Mormonism, they are required to abide by all its rules, one of which is water baptism. Hence the need for proxies to receive the corporeal waters of baptism.

You might be surprised to learn that the Mormon church has teams of men and women microfilming records of Catholic and Protestant parishes, cemetery records, birth and death certificates—virtually any sort of record pertaining to past generations. Temple Mormons hope, in time, to have all of the dead of previous generations baptized posthumously into the Mormon church.

Why do Mormons perform religious rites for the deceased?
They believe that people need to have these rites (Mormon Rites – my emphasis) performed to have a chance to get into the highest tier of heaven. However, they believe the deceased will have the opportunity to choose to accept or reject the rites done in their name. Ultimately, their goal is to have it done for every human being who has ever lived that never had it done while alive.

In other words, it’s an opt out that can’t be enacted; like “Everyone who wants to become a Mormon will so signify by breathing!”

Yep! They get the genealogic records from various churches, newspapers and any other sites they can find of people who died. They then decide that these dead, who are overwhelmingly Christian and have already been baptized by their respective faiths NEED to be baptized to save their souls. And what if they’ve already been baptized? No problem! The Mormons believe that the dead can then decide (in their afterlife) whether to accept Mormonism or not. Nice choice isn’t it. The names are recorded in the Mormon Church as having been officially Baptized into the Mormon Faith. Isn’t that nice?

You Catholics and Baptists and Protestants and others out there live your lives in peace thinking your loved ones who have died had been baptized by YOUR faith as Catholics, Baptists, Protestants or whatever, but it’s not so. They are now ostensibly members of the Mormon Faith. And you didn’t have any say in it, and weren’t even told or aware of it! Is this a violation of the First Amendment? Is it a violation of YOUR faith?

The Mormon Church has a Vault containing the names of about 2 billion dead who they are planning to baptize, have already baptized or are beginning to baptize…and without your consent!

What’s the big deal? Well, other than rights to your faith being violated (and those of the deceased), should it ever become necessary in the future by descendants of yours to have to prove they were Catholic, Baptist, Protestant or whatever faith, there could be legal challenges to that. And in a growing number of cases such as these, the churches are trying to get property, finances and other material things from the distant relatives of the deceased claiming they have the right by virtue of acceptance into the Mormon Church by Right of Baptism! Far fetched? Nope! It’s already happened. If there’s no proof to contest it, the Mormons win. And even if little Johnny or Suzie is baptized as a Catholic, Baptist, Protestant or whatever, your descendants may have a nearly impossible time to try to prove little Johnny or Suzie didn’t change their minds during their lives and choose to become Mormons! How’s that grab you?

Local Churches have been unthinkingly turning over records of their deceased to the Mormons for a while, as have local municipalities...and, surprise…newspapers! In some cases they are being paid for this information but aren’t required to tell the relatives! I’d suggest that if this upsets you to contact your church, municipality or newspaper to find if they have provided the names of any of your relatives to any group, especially the Mormons. If they did, then ask them why.

This is interesting:

Four years after the LDS Church agreed to stop posthumous baptisms for Jewish Holocaust victims, ( more ) perhaps the best - known of death camp martyrs -- Anne Frank and members of her family -- continue to pop up in Mormon temple and genealogical records.
Further, the records show temple work has also been done vicariously for the Holocaust's chief perpetrator, Adolf Hitler, and many of his Nazi henchmen. Also getting Mormon baptism: Ted Bundy, Mao, Stalin, Jeffry Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy and Timothy McVeigh.


If you believe in such things, the most important loss could be your loved one’s eternal soul…to a religion they didn’t choose.

Another Toomey lie...

If you've listened to the ads Liar Toomey has bombarded you with (and isn't it nice that he's spending 25 million of your dollars to win a job that pays $125,000? And the Republicans tell you they're concerned about big spending in Government?), he's told you the stimulus didn't work and cost money. The CBO (Congressional Budget Office - which is NOT affiliated with either party and is quite neutral) says Toomey is a liar. As is John Boehner and all the Republicans.
Read this and ask Toomey why he's lying.

...President Obama's much-maligned economic stimulus package added as many as 3.3 million jobs to the economy during the second quarter of this year, and may have prevented the nation from lapsing back into recession, according to a report released Tuesday by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.

In its latest quarterly assessment of the act, the CBO said the stimulus lowered the unemployment rate by between 0.7 and 1.8 percentage points during the quarter ending in June and increased the number of people employed by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million. The higher figure would come close to making good on Obama's pledge that the act would save or create as many as 3.5 million jobs by the end of this year.

No No's at it again! (Sigh!)

Does she even know the meaning of the word hypocrite? I bet if you look up hypocrite in the dictionary, you’ll see a picture of her right next to it – if you can stomach the vie-eeew! Speaking of that….

As the only “NO Vote” (what else does she know how to do?) at last night’s meeting on appealing the idiotic decision made by three blind mice, she claimed,

"I was opposed to it when it happened," Wisner said. "I think it should have happened in public as it involved public funds. I don't think this is worth our time."

To refresh your toilet paper erased memories, Wisner went running like a school girl, crying her age-hardened eyes out to the local piece of shit paper and its ethically questionable representative over the DISCUSSION about engaging Nick Starsenic as an advisor. I’ve been all over this before. Timmy McCute decided to be a BMOC and file a suit against the board for the same reason the tp did.

However, his attorney was evidently much more intelligent than the three blind mice and dropped the case. That didn’t satisfy Wisner though, she wanted to spend more of your tax dollars at the time to fight, fight, fight! But now, OH MY, we can’t waste any more money. Why does she feel this way? Probably because she and the Scaife puppets know that the appeal will be reversed by the high court. You know, the one that actually looks at the wording of the Law that : “…Commonwealth Judge Patricia A. McCullough wrote that the private meeting with Heights Plaza Shopping Center representatives "has the odor of favoritism that the Sunshine Act does not tolerate." It’s the job of judges to decide on things based on fact not “odor.” I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find any reference to smell in the SunShine Law. Maybe there’s a secret addendum to it that the public doesn’t know about? Oh wait! That wouldn’t smell right! After talking with a few constitutional (Pa.) lawyers, the consensus is that three panel judgeship overstepped its bounds and rendered a decision based, not on fact, but, feeling.

It’s sure to be overturned. There are too many instances where executive meetings were held to discuss private matters that were then made public as the law allows. No vote was taken in the executive meeting the tp refers to; no decision was made that was binding. The SunShine Act allows for the discussion of such topics in executive session provided the information is not voted on and is made public at the next scheduled public meeting. If you doubt the validity of that, look it up yourself.

And why did all this occur in the first place? Well, it was because poor old Tommy Yerace was refused a seat in the executive session (which can be closed to the public, press, military and even president) and he cried “wheee wheee wheee” all the way back to Jeffy’s desk (and probably hid under it sobbing). Friends on the inside told me that the Big operators at the tp cried, “They violated the first amendment! Have they no shame?”

Remember, these are the same operators who refused to publish articles against the Better Choice for Highlands rabble at the time (who may have also violated the law with their secret meetings with candidates present). Jeffy better hope the superior or state supreme court doesn’t reverse the appeal. That would open the door for the School District to sue the tp. And if the district doesn’t do it, there’s a provision in the Pa. Law that allows residents to do just that. And I know a few who are willing to give that a shot.

By the way, Jeffy, quitting, retiring or going on permanent vacation doesn’t absolve you from responsibility if the appeal is reversed and the tp is sued. The tp and you could lose massive amounts of money if it’s carried to its limit. There’s only one thing that can get you out of it. Personally, I’d recommend you take that opportunity.

For those thinking erroneously that we should extend the Bush Tax Cuts for the Wealthy, read the article and look at the chart that shows how much the wealthy will benefit from keeping the Bush Tax Cuts.
They won't affect you at all.
And to those who idiotically claim tax cuts help the economy, remember, the Bush Tax cuts went into effect 9 years ago. How has this country been doing those 9 years? Millions of jobs outsourced and lost from 2001 to 2008 under Bush. But we need to keep those tax cuts for the wealthy so they can hire more people...from overseas.

By the way, Pat Toomey, ex Wall Street Guru who is also responsible for the mess started under Bush, wants to keep HIS tax cut. He's worth millions right now! Do you think he needs a $100,000 break while you get less than $1900?

There are lotteries all over the United Social States of America. The most publicized are the “Big Money Mega-Power Games” that promise more money than Glenn Beck’s Yearly Salary but less than Rupert Murdoch’s! But the most popular are probably the scratch-off tickets where you could win $XXXX.00 weekly or monthly for the rest of your life! These are by far the most favorite of the seniors in my area. They are hoping, not for immense wealth, rather just enough extra per week or month to help them get by paying for necessities and incidentals.

Most lottery games have odds where you have as much chance of winning as a wolf getting away from Palin’s helicopters. (The guys who operate the games aren’t doing it out of the kindness of their hearts, ya know)? But you play anyway. Why? Well, someone has to win, so why not you?

Now for a dose of reality. If I told you, you have already won a prize of about $1100 A MONTH FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, just by being an employed citizen of the United Social States of America, would that pique your interest? Would you ask how is that possible? Would you believe me if I told you? And would you take the prize you’ve already won? Well, truth is, nearly all Americans have already “won” a prize of about $1100 a month for the rest of their lives! It’s true and it’s called Social Security. Surprise! You’re a winner!

There are no tickets to buy or to scratch off, no sitting up nights until 11:00 P.M to see if your numbers match those stupid ping pong balls and no checking the newspaper or waiting through commercial after commercial watching the dweebs on your local TV News to see if you won anything. You already have WON! Honest!
You see, you entered and won by working all your life. That’s all there is to it. The prize is already yours! And our Socialist Government has made sure that your winnings are safe, at least until 2037. Problems after that can be corrected easily by making the current “entry price” we all pay percentage-wise, the same for everyone. Right now, people who make more than $106,000 yearly don’t pay any more as an entry fee. But when they are eligible to get their monthly winnings, they get a lot more than you and I. Not too fair, is it, since they get money we paid in that should have been ours? Eliminate the $106,000 cap so they pay their fair share and you will never lose any money after 2037 no matter who tries to lie to you, no matter how much the wealthy earn.

But there is a faction in America that wants you to give up your guaranteed winnings, pass a law and force you to take a chance on losing your $1100 a month for life, your money, to them. It’s just like buying that lottery ticket with the big odds. What if you lose? How many guaranteed winners are there in all the lotteries you play? None or maybe one! How many guaranteed losers? 99% of all the others! But do you want to take a chance on losing out on $1100 a month for life just to satisfy the greed of that faction then ending up with nothing for all your years of hard work ? It just isn’t worth it!

Just who is the faction that wants you to gamble away your $1100 a month for life? It’s the Senators and Representatives of the Republican Party, a number of Senators of the Democratic Party, a good number of Congressional Blue Dog Democrats, the former and current President and Vice-President of our United Social States and their advisors, appointees and relatives, the Wealthy of Wall Street and their Businesses and Bankers, most of the Main Stream Media Newscasters, especially Fox and the Ex-Governor of Alaska and her extremely radical Tea Party. Yep! They want to take away your $1100 a month for life winnings and force you to take a chance that you’ll lose it all...to them!

How about it? Are you willing to give up a sure $1100 a month for life to allow some wealthy political type or Wall Street Shyster, Tea Party Member or even Ex-Governor of Alaska to take money that was yours while you get NOTHING in return?

Maybe you should call your U.S. Representative, Senator and our President and tell them you’ve already played and won and don’t want anyone to make any law to force you to gamble with what is already your winnings…unless you like taking a chance with your money…and your future?

He's out spending Sestak tremendously. So how is it that he hopes to be able to act to save anyone money if elected?
There'll be more on him and the idiot Corbett later. But did you know:
Pat Toomey was a Wall Street Broker? And was one of the people whohelped create the current recession?
Vote for him so he can steal you blind like he did to so many others and their retirements!

Hypocrisy, thy name is VND!!!

Once again, the local TP opinion/editorial geniuses get it wrong. The hypocritic audacity of those on the Right never fails to amaze me. The mental midgets who write the Laurels and Lances for the TP live in their own little world with a rose colored sky, even without their glasses on.
Witness this insane piece of hugely biased comment from the VND, August 6th, 2010:

Laurel: To Tom Coburn and John McCain. The Republican U.S. senators, of Oklahoma and Arizona, respectively, list Pittsburgh's North Shore Connector as the nation's third-worst waste of federal "stimulus" money. And what a waste it is. Its benefits were oversold. It's dramatically over budget. And it's a monument to both the state in ineptness and the ineptness of the state. It is "waste" incarnate.

This piece of wiping paper has been against the North Shore Connector since it was first proposed by a, gasp! Democrat! The intellectually challenged at the TP don’t like spending money, or rather spending money on other people’s ideas. It’s quite another thing to waste our tax dollars on what THEY think is worthy even if it’s not.
During Jim Roddy’s reign as fool-in-charge of the Port Authority and County Executive, we saw rates for Public Transportation rise, salaries rise (for the management people but that was ok, it was those damn union people who had the nerve to get more money!) and we watched as Jimbo and his ilk ran the Authority into the future ground setting the stage for the problems we have today.
But have you ever heard a word of criticism of Jimbo from this fetid paper? Nope! And you never will. Why? Because Jimbo is a Republican and they can do no wrong. Just ask any of them.
Now the feeble minds at the TP use loser John McCain and Oil Company Puppet Tom Coburn as examples of expertise on waste?

Where were these opinion writing assholes when McCain and Coburn had no problem wasting our tax dollars on two illegal wars? Where were they when Bush and the Republicans created tax cuts for the wealthy that Bush/Cheney promised would create jobs (we’re still waiting on that one)? Where were they when the gangsters that Bush appointed to oversee the Fed led us straight into the worst recession of all time? Where were they when Bush appointees decided to bail out Wall Street with no assurance of how the money would be spent? Where were they when Obama instituted a Republican (and Jason Altmire) reduced and crippled stimulus that would have done much more had Republicans and Blue Dog Traitor Democrats not gutted most of it?
These uncaring bastards haven’t the decency to tell the truth about anything. And if it’s a demonstrable fact, they, like Fox, ignore it. A prime example is the bullshit going on with Social Security. McCain and Coburn want to gut it, Medicare and Medicaid. They lie about whether SS has a problem knowing there is NONE! We have a surplus. We have a Social Security surplus until 2037. Guess who wants that surplus for their own uses?
And the talk about the deficit is so asinine as to be pathetic. McCain and Coburn were not worried about paying for a deficit when they voted a trillion of our tax dollars for two illegal wars or when they approved (along with Jason Altmire) additional wasted funds for the war in Afghanistan.
But these overly rich Bastards don’t want to pay unemployment because they claim it will add to the deficit. Studies by the Office of Management and Budget (a non-partisan government Department) have shown that for each dollar of unemployment paid during a recession, the government gets back $1.73! Whereas thanks to the Bush Tax Cuts each dollar of cuts for the wealthy top 2% MIGHT return $1.02!
And these uncaring bastards claim we need to make sure we have the money available BEFORE we pay for unemployment or healthcare yet they wrote blank checks for 2 illegal wars that created a 2 trillion dollar deficit for us! And you people who watch Fox and most of the Network and Cable News believe them?
So why do the Mental Olympians at the local TP and Trib itself continue to lie to us when they know that the policies of the Republicans will only help those in the top 2% of money earners in the country? Ask them next time you see one. Ask Altmire why he can throw our money away on an illegal war but not give a damn about the plight of those without health coverage.
Oh yeah, One more thing. It’s just been reported that the Government is trying to reduce the salary and benefits of our troops, active and retired to reduce the deficit, all the while spending your money on Halliburton and Xe(formerly Blackwater) like a drunken sailor. Add to that the over 8 billion that we gave to Karzai (leader of Afghanistan and OUR guy) just this year that somehow just disappeared into thin air (he claims he doesn’t know anything about it and threatens to block ANY Congressional investigation into it!).
One last thing. In case you didn’t know, Afghanistan is the world’s leading producer of heroin. There’s nobody even close to second in comparison. And who runs this nearly trillion dollar operation? Why Karzai’s brother, whom we support and was installed by the Bush Administration. So when you hear about getting tough on the drugs that kill your kids, remember that Bush and Congress are the ones that COULD stop this problem by cutting off the money to Afghanistan…but they won’t! Please vote for them again.

How time flies when you do nothing...

It's coming up on that time of year again folk. The time of the season when the school board does their thing, or tries to.
Another year, another fruitless set of meetings with our old friends Judy and Karen and Billy. I'm thinking of starting a pool, like the Basketball March Madness one but this one will try to figure out when, or if,the three total wastes of time will produce some meaningful proposal.
Haven't come up with a prize yet but am thinking about a dinner at the Anchor!

There's a new item added at the right above the "Blog Archive" that shows the time since the Better Choice for Highlands put these three do-nothings in office. You folk really got your money's worth with them (that's sarcasm).

I remember talking with some voters a few years ago asking why they will vote for these three clowns. The answers ranged from, "We knew Billy" or "He taught my kid" to "Karen has a plan" (if you'll remember, she never said what that plan was and hasn't since. Reminds me of the other political waste of time, Sarah Palin. Big on talk, nothing on action) and for No No, "Well, she needs to attend more conferences so she can get more 'stuff' for the district." Yeah, like tee-shirts and maybe mittens for the kids at Grandview. All great excuses.
In the meantime, your taxes are going up. You knew that, right? Did it this year. Just wait until 2014 for even more tax increases! We're talking 4 to 5 mills per year for a few years. But hey, we got a really swell, pretty stadium.

Here's looking forward to another less than mediocre school year.

Oh, and Mikey, someone you made a comment to at a store recently sends his love. He says he's planning on looking you up at one of the meetings to show you some papers I gave him. Didn't seem too happy. I heard he had been willing to forget somethings you printed(...until you became the perfect example of an idiot) but I guess that's gone now. I'll be at that meeting, too. Wouldn't miss it for the world if just to make sure things don't get exaggerated.
